What is Grid Duel?

Yu-Gi-Oh! tic-tac-toe. Both players take turns on the same 3x3 grid of clues. Name a card that fits a slot to claim it; get three in a row to win.

Who can I play against?

The computer (Rookie, Duelist or Kaiba difficulty), a friend with a challenge link, or a random opponent in a rated quick match.

What happens if I get a card wrong?

Your turn ends and the slot stays open. You also lose the turn if the 30-second clock runs out. Three timeouts in a row forfeit the duel.

Can both players use the same card?

No. Once a card is played by either side it is used for the rest of the duel.

How does the rating work?

Quick matches are rated with Elo, starting at 1000. Beat stronger players to climb faster. Duels against the computer and friends are for fun and XP.

What if nobody claims a line?

A full board without a line is a draw. So are 12 misses in a row.
